Lafia (Core Reporters) – National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has led members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) at a North Central grassroots mobilization rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s January 2027 re-election bid.
The demonstration, organized by the North Central Grassroots Mobilization Network, was held at Lafia Square in Nasarawa State and hosted by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The event attracted the attention of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume; governors elected on the APC platform under the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF); and other party leaders and stakeholders.
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubum, also led a delegation of women from the six states of the North Central geopolitical zone to the event.
The meeting is part of the party’s mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political parties and their supporters begin preparations for the contest.
The rally brought together party officials, elected representatives and grassroots mobilization groups to show support for Tinubu’s second term ambition.
However, the political significance of the event will ultimately depend on how the party translates its mobilization activities into sustained grassroots engagement in the north-central region ahead of the elections.
