Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Frank Mba, has officially inaugurated his law firm, FRANK MBA LEGAL, in Abuja, marking a new chapter in his professional journey following his retirement from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The inauguration, held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at the company’s headquarters in Wuse 2, Abuja, also coincided with Mba’s birthday celebration, bringing together dignitaries, friends, associates and well-wishers to mark the occasion.

Distinguished VIP guests at the event included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Ambassador White Odumegwu-Ojukwu; former Inspectors General of Police, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar (Rtd) and IGP Usman Alkali Baba (Rtd); Pastor Jerry Eze, Convoker of New Season Prayers and Prophetic Declarations (NSPPD); Chief Sir Emeka Offor, Chairman of Chrome Group; retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sadiq Abubakar; DIG Tijani Baba (Rtd); DIG Dan Kwara (Rtd); and members of the National Assembly.

Three DIGs on duty were also present. They are Ekene Onwuemeelie, Isiyaku Abubakar and Suleiman Mohammed.

The event marked the formal commencement of MBA’s legal practice after more than three decades of service in the Nigeria Police Force, where he has distinguished himself in policing, public communications, training and institutional leadership.

Addressing guests at the event, the former police chief said his decision to found the company was driven by a desire to continue contributing to society by bringing his expertise in policing, legal education and public service to his legal practice.

“Retirement is not the end of service; it is an opportunity to play a different role. My years in the Nigeria Police Force have provided me with invaluable experience in leadership, discipline, conflict management and the administration of justice. I intend to bring these lessons, along with my legal training, into this new chapter.

“For me, law is not simply a profession; it is a tool to protect rights, resolve disputes, uphold justice and strengthen trust in our institutions. At FRANK MBA LAW, our ambition is to build a practice that clients can trust and that consistently upholds the highest standards of professional conduct,” said Mba.

Mba retired as Deputy Inspector General of Police in March 2026 after 34 years of distinguished service. He served three times as a Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), earning recognition for his role in police communications and public engagement. He also served as Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State and Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, among other strategic positions.

As a member of the Force’s leadership team, he was responsible for the Training and Development Department, contributing to the professional development of police staff.

His transition to legal practice is based on his academic and professional background. He obtained his law degree from the University of Lagos, attended the Nigerian Law School as an award winner and obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Dundee, Scotland, where he graduated with honours. He was called to the Nigerian Bar Association in 2002.
