Oyo:  We’re committed to housing deficit reduction – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

The  Director-General of Oyo State Investment and Public Private Partnership Agency (OYSIPA), Mr. Olatilewa Folami, has restated the commitment of Governor  Seyi Makinde’s administration to reducing the state’s housing deficits.

Folami gave the assurance recently during a project inspection tour of Rayfield Gardens City Estate and Fendini Homes along Olodo-Iwo Road in Ibadan.

“Government’s priority to the provision of housing units across the state, especially Ibadan the state capital, made it to enter into a Public Private Partnership (PPP) deal with Fendini Homes on the provision of about 400 housing units.

”Also, the Rayfield Gardens City Estate is one of the ongoing Government Reserved Areas (GRAs) the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde is opening up in his bid to provide modern and decent housing for the good people of Oyo State,” he said.

The Director-General expressed satisfaction with the level of infrastructure in the estate, saying it was very encouraging.

He urged the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fendini Group, Prince Laja Adeoye who led the OYSIPA team around the estate, to sustain building quality structures in the estate.

Folami further noted that the ease of doing business with the agency, as put in place by Governor Makinde, was giving more investors and entrepreneurs the confidence to come to Oyo State.

”They see the state as a good place for business, all thanks to what the Makinde-led administration has done,” he said.

In his remarks, Adeoye who is the developer of the Rayfield Gardens City Estate, expressed readiness to work with the Oyo State Government in the provision of more housing projects.

He said his company was targeting 5,000 housing units for the benefit of the good people of Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

“The estate will be powered majorly by grid and solar energy, which is more efficient due to its renewable ability, to achieve constant electricity, zero noise, less carbon emission and pollution through generators,” Adeoye said.

The Fendini CEO further said Rayfield Gardens City Estate was planned to be the first of its kind in the state, because of the modern infrastructure the residents would enjoy.

He said apart from the quality roads they were constructing, there would be a centrally-treated water port, which would be connected to every home within the estate.

“All the house types in the estate, be it bungalow, duplex, or terrace, are all modern and contemporary state-of-the-art buildings with smart home automation technology.

“Our focus is to deliver an estate community that can rival any other across the world. So, we are painstakingly implementing our plans one after the other, and it will be done within a good time frame,” Adeoye said.

He also made it known that the estate would have a commercial wing for a school, amusement park, office complex, hotel, events centre, and hospital/pharmacy store, apart from the residential

development.

“This commercial wing will be handled by interested investors.”

Adeoye then expressed his appreciation of the fact that the OYSIPA management found time to visit the estate.

”Oyo State has become a choice destination for home buyers because of its economy’s expansion, leading to sustainable development being done by the state government,” he said.
