David Ozoh, who recently agreed to play for the Nigerian senior team, has bid farewell to his loan team, Derby County, following the end of the English Championship season, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.
The 20-year-old was on loan from Crystal Palace and made a huge impression, making 33 appearances with two goals from his deep-lying midfield role. He wrote a farewell message thanking the coaches, teammates, management and also the fans for their support.
The Nigerian national team coach, Eric Chelle, was very impressed with his performances and quickly convinced him to play for his team rather than wait for England, where he was a youth international at various levels.
Sources say he will not return to Crystal Palace with a deal already signed for him elsewhere. It is part of the reason why he will not be involved with the Nigerian senior team for the upcoming Unity Cup.
However, we can exclusively reveal that Chelle has him lined up for the high-profile friendly match against Poland and Portugal respectively.
