Troops of Operation Whirl Punch have killed several bandits in another coordinated attack in Giwa local government area of โโKaduna State.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, in a statement in Kaduna, Friday.
He said coordinated ground and air attacks killed the bandits including some of their leaders at a meeting point near the Bula community inside the Yadi forest in the Giwa region.
The commissioner added that the attack was carried out based on credible intelligence regarding the activities of bandits in the Kaduna-Katsina border area.

Aruwan said: โTight monitoring was carried out, and at the agreed time, the bandits were seen carrying weapons and approaching the location on motorbikes.
โFurther exploration confirmed the movement and convergence of the bandits in a group of about seven to 10 members at a hub at the location.
โAfter verification, the location was attacked and a number of bandits including Alhaji Kachalla Ragas, an ally and childhood friend of Buharin Yadi who was previously neutralized were confirmed to have been neutralized by the attack.โ
