Aston Villa joins the list of suitors tracking the new Super Eagles winger

Europa League winners Aston Villa have joined the list of teams interested in signing 24-year-old Nigerian international winger Femi Azeez from English Championship side Millwall, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Azeez made his debut for Nigeria in the summer after scoring 11 goals and 8 assists in 34 games last season. He carried his form to the Nigerian team, where he scored a brace in the 2-0 semi-final win over Zimbabwe, before providing an assist in the 3-0 win over Jamaica in the final of the Unity Cup friendly tournament.

Teams such as Bournemouth were the first to show interest in him, before newly promoted Ipswich Town went a step further with a rumored £25m bid that was rejected by Millwall.

The latest report says that Villa, who are strengthening their squad’s depth ahead of the challenge of playing in the UEFA Champions League, English Premier League and other cup tournaments, have already contacted their representative.

The idea is to reach an agreement in time so that he is available for coach Unai Emery when the preseason begins.
