Atiku congratulates Muslims on Eid-ul-Adha and calls for sacrificial leadership – THISAGE

Former Vice President of Nigeria and a leading presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

In a statement released by his press office on Tuesday, Atiku described the festival as a profound symbol of personal rebirth, sacrifice and absolute trust in the Almighty.

“The celebration of Sallah today is an extraordinary moment as it calls our conscience to worship God and have absolute faith in His divine authority as the only source of hope in the current situation Nigeria is going through,” Atiku said.

He further noted that the significance of Eid-ul-Adha lies in the shining example of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who, in a time of sorrow and doubt, placed absolute faith and trust in the divine decree.

The Waziri Adamawa took this opportunity to call on leaders in positions of authority at all levels to emulate the leadership examples of both Prophet Ibrahim and the noble Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by putting the well-being of their subjects first, especially in difficult times like the one we are currently witnessing.

“In Nigeria today, leadership has become a status symbol. Leaders seem distant from the responsibilities that rest on their shoulders, without resorting to duties towards their subjects. The occasion of this celebration is to specifically call the conscience of leaders to their duties to always ensure that the interests of the people remain paramount in their obligations,” Atiku said.

Atiku prayed that the spirit of sacrifice, faith and compassion exemplified by the Eid festival would inspire all Nigerians towards national renewal and purposeful leadership.
