BREAKING: Saudi Arabia sets May 26 for Arafat Day and Eid-el-Adha for May 27

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia declared Tuesday 26 May 2026 as Arafat Day, while Eid-el-Adha will be celebrated the following day, Wednesday 27 May.

The announcement followed the sighting of the crescent moon marking the start of Dhul Hijjah 1447AH in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, Monday, May 18, 2026, was confirmed as the first day of Dhul Hijjah, after the court verified moon sighting testimonies.

Arafat Day, observed on the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, marks the culmination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, during which pilgrims gather on Mount Arafat in prayer and supplication.

The court also offered prayers for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, praising their efforts in serving pilgrims and maintaining the security and stability of the Kingdom.
