Deputy minority whip resigns from PDP

House of Representatives Minority Leader, Ali Isa, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to internal challenges in the party.

In a resignation letter dated April 14, and addressed to the Chairman of Kindiyo Ward in Cham, Balanga Local Government Area of ​​Gombe State, the lawmaker said his decision would take effect immediately.

The letter, signed by the Minority Whip and made available to journalists in Gombe, stated that his departure came after careful consideration and extensive consultation with key stakeholders.

According to him, this decision was driven by concerns about the party’s direction.

He alleged that the PDP structure had been taken over in a manner inconsistent with its founding principles, leading to factional leadership.

He thanked the leadership and members of the PDP for the opportunity given to him to serve, and stated that he remains grateful to the platform that enabled him to be elected to the National Assembly.

Isa represents Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
