Ecowas, Africa Center for State Strateg Studies COMMITTE C …. CONCLAVG

The economic community of the States of West Africa (Ecowas) and the Center for Strategic Studies (ACS) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen strategic collaboration in facing emerging regional threats, in particular disinformation, disinformation and growing insecurity throughout Western Africa.

During a high -level commitment, the director of the ACSS, Mrs. Amanda Dory, led a delegation in the discussions with the vice -president of the Ecowas Commission, Mrs. Damtien Tchintchibidja, focusing on the deepening of bilateral cooperation in the sectors of peace, strategic security
Ership.

The meeting underlined the importance of promoting resilient governance structures, improving human security and improving early warning mechanisms to prevent and mitigate conflicts in the region.

ACSS has reiterated her support for the commitment of the Commission for a cohesive approach of “One Ecowas”, in line with the vision and strategic priorities of Ecowas in peace and security. A key element of the discussions was the promotion of experience sharing initiatives, in particular those who turn to the former ACSC students involved in governance, peace and security within the Ecowas institutions and its Member States.

Vice -president Tchintchibidja reiterated Ecowas’ dedication to improve his
Predictive and forecasting capacity of the Ecowas early alarm system. This improvement should contribute significantly to a more integrated and effective implementation of the architecture of peace and safety of the ECOWAS.

Both parties have agreed to collaborate in the following key areas of construction skills for the staff of Ecowa and Member States, the development of strategic leadership for peace and security professionals, the sharing of information and the exchange of best practices and the use of new technologies and models, including artificial intelligence (AI), for data collection, analysis and analysis of scenarios
