*From Queen Hrh Chanel, mother of Prince Oduww of the Kingdom
My attention was attracted by the recent accusations that circulate in the media and in the public space, presumably involving its imperial majesty, IFE’s Ooni.
I would like to categorically declare that these declarations are poisonously false, misleading and very harmful to the sacred institution of culture and traditional affairs in Yorubaland.
To avoid doubt:
Mr. Akanbi was presented to me by a popular monarch of Lagos at a party of Ikeja, not by his imperial majesty, the Ooni of Ife.

During my period of Olori Oluwo, I respected the monarch of Lagos as my real father and I continue to retain it in this sense to date.
At no time this monarch made me known Mr. Akanbi to revers them or with any harmful intent.
I also remember with affection that Mr. Akanbi and I once visited the said monarch and his gentle Olori in Lagos with Prince Oduduwa as a child. Those remain personal and precious memories.
It is important to note that Mr. Akanbi was not involved in his son’s life, Prince Oduww, emotionally or financially for over five years. He contacted only August this year during a visit to Canada. On that occasion, he refused to sign the necessary documents for OduDuww to obtain his Canadian passport, yet he dropped the sum of $ 500 as if to hide for his long absence, but I was grateful because this is the first support that Oduww received from his father since we left the palace five years ago. Despite this, I remained silent because I have always supported a peaceful co-generator and I have continued to support the full responsibility to ensure that my son does not miss his basic needs.
Therefore, I will plead with the general public to ignore any falsehoods sold against its imperial majesty, the Ooni of Ife, which remains the main monarch of the Yoruba breed.

In addition, I implore the traditional institution of calling Mr. Akanbi to order him to further degrade the sacred institution that he himself has the purpose of representing.
This will be my last statement on questions related to Mr. Akanbi. Prince Oduwww remains my beloved son and nothing will change this fact. I keep the Yoruba people in deep love and respect, and I am confident that the truth will prevail.
