FG moves to advance the SDGs since over 300 OGUN residents receive free health care

In a renewed effort to advance the United Nations sustainable development objectives (SDG), in particular the objective 3, which assume healthy lives and promoting well-being for everyone, the federal government, through the neuropsychiatric hospital Aro, Abekuta, has delivered free medical assistance to over 300 residents of Obafemi-Wowe, in the Government area of ​​Ogun Ogun.

The Times platform reports that the awareness program that was aimed at the six areas of the local government of the State of Ogun was held in some parts of the state in which many residents benefited from the program.

The secretary of the health campaigns and the medical awareness of Ojomo Ojomo, explained that the last awareness, held at the Mother and Child Hospital, Ashimolowo in Mowe, is part of a wider and more multi-phase initiative designed to expand access to quality health care in underground and rural communities throughout the state.

He said that the program also aligns with the federal government’s strategy to fill the health gap between urban and basic populations by increasing awareness and mental health services.

He explained that in addition to these interventions based on the community, the vagabonds and the sick individuals of the mind have been taken from the streets of Abeokuta metropolis and transported to the neuropsychiatric hospital of Aro for an adequate medical care and rehabilitation.

He added “This marks a significant step in the integration of mental health in the delivery of primary health care”.

Ojomo, highlighted the humanitarian mission of the program, observing that there is no limit higher than the number of beneficiaries.

“We deal with all those who come. In cases involving mental health, we also trace the families of patients in an attempt to bring them together and provide sustainable support.”

Dr. Lydia Egua, president of the Health Campaign Committee, described the turnout at the Mow Center as “Impressive and Compensant”, crediting the success to the strong collaboration between health officials, community development associations (Board of Directors) and traditional institutions.

“Today is the continuation of our health campaign project,” said dr. Equal. “We have a team of medical professionals who provide complete services, including registration, IMC controls, monitoring of the blood pressure level and sugar, doctors and drugs consultations – completely free of charge.”

He underlined the holistic nature of the program, which includes not only projections and treatments for physical health, but also a solid support for mental health in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

“Different individuals who have been saved from the streets and are now receiving care in a safe and dignified environment,” he added.

The medical consultant Dr. Ayodeji Sennuga urged the beneficiaries to follow their prescribed treatment plans and underlined the importance of the ongoing care.

He also suggested the next federal policies, including plans to offer free surgical interventions in government hospitals in the long -term health agenda of the government.

“For those who face financial constraints, public hospitals remain the most reliable option and even greater access is planned,” he observed.

The nurse’s head assistant, Mrs. Modpe Daramola, warned by the dangers of unregulated herbs remedies, stating that these concoctions could cause serious complications such as renal failure due to the lack of control of the dosage and standardization.

One of the beneficiaries, Prince Temitayo Badejo, president of the grace of God the Board of Directors, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community, defining the “very encouraging” initiative.
