Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has given a great Christmas gift to civil servants, civil servants and pensioners in the state – a bonus of N100,000 to help with holiday expenses. This generous move aims to make their Christmas celebration joyful and fulfilling.
The governor’s approval was given on Monday, December 23, 2024, with immediate implementation to ensure public servants have a wonderful celebration. This is actually the second time that Governor Fubara’s administration has given Christmas bonuses to public employees, with an amount higher than the national minimum wage. Additionally, retirees are also included for the first time, demonstrating the governor’s commitment to their well-being.
According to Dr. George Nweke, the State Service Chief, this bonus is part of the Governor’s “Rivers First” plan, which aims to improve the quality of life of people in Rivers State.
