There has been some confusion over the difference between jamb direct entry form and university direct entry form which has led many candidates to feel confused to the extent that they do not know which one to believe or which one can guarantee them admission to study their desired course.
What is Jamb Direct Entry 2024/2025?
It is important that we first explain to you the meaning of direct jamb entry so that you can understand the difference.
Direct jamb entry
This is a process set up by the joint admission and matriculation committee jamb for those who wish to get admission in the university of their choice. The beauty of jamb DE is that you will not have to start from 100 level but from 200 level.
To be considered for admission through direct entry into Jamb, you must have either the NCE, National Diploma (ND), IJMB, Jupeb or equivalent
What is direct entry to university?
While JAMB direct entry is linked to jamb, university direct entry is linked to the university. In fact, the university has to ensure that you have applied for jamb direct entry and all your credentials are intact before they can consider admission.
Do I need to purchase both the Jamb DE form and the University DE form?
You cannot apply directly for direct entry to the university without first obtaining Jamb direct entry.
Before an admission can be successful, Jamb must be aware of this, in fact, they remain the only body recognized by law to grant admission to any candidate.
Secondly, you need to get a Jamb registration number, this is the most important reason why Jamb needs to know about your admission. Without this registration number, it becomes impossible to participate in the NYSC programme.
Will I or will I write Jamb as a Direct Entry (DE) candidate?
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board will not require you to take the annual jamb exams if you come through DIRECT ENTRY. So don’t be afraid, there is nothing like jamb exams.
