The abducted students and teachers in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom following efforts by security agencies.
The announcement was made on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed the development in a post on his verified X account.
By sharing this latest information, Onanuga praised the security officers who secured the release of the victims.
“Finally, all the kidnapped students and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” he wrote.
Although the release has been confirmed, authorities have not provided details of how the operation was carried out.
It remains unclear whether the victims were rescued through a security operation, freed by their captors on negotiated terms, or whether a ransom was paid before they regained their freedom.

Officials have also not disclosed the condition of the rescued students and teachers or whether any arrests have been made in connection with the abduction.
