Ogboru wins ADC governorship primaries in Delta with 38,151 votes…

Chief Great Ogboru has emerged as the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate for Delta State ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ogboru polled 38,151 votes to defeat Dr Emmanuel Unuafe, who polled 1,182 votes, in the party primaries concluded on Monday at the ADC secretariat in Asaba. Two aspirants contested the ticket.

The Chairman of the ADC Primary Election Committee, Prof. Patrick Sambo Williams, announced the result and said the exercise covered the state assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and governor positions across the state.

He said the process was peaceful and orderly and that the party ensured a level playing field in line with its constitution and electoral guidelines.

“The success of the exercise reflects the party’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency and fairness,” Williams said. He urged aspirants and supporters to work together ahead of the 2027 elections and avoid divisions over political contests.

Supporters celebrated at the secretariat following the announcement, expressing confidence that the ADC would be a strong contender in the state’s governorship race.
