Police arrested the originator of the fake Tinubu audio who posted a VDM against the presidential aide

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) crack team has arrested one Ifechukwu Dennis who is said to be the author of a fake audio recording of President Bola Tinubu.

This was made known by the presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga on his X handle, Friday.

He posted “The IGP crack team has arrested Ifechukwu Dennis who created a fake voice which he passed off to his gullible targets as the voice of President Tinubu. Dennis was arrested in Benin. Police will issue an official statement”.

The audio recording previously sparked controversy as Onanuga called for the arrest and prosecution of social media activist, Martins Otse known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

VDM reacted by calling Onanuga a ‘foolish old fool’ for not verifying the video before calling him out.

He also alleged that social media posts linking him to the audio were a government plot to arrest him and ban him from circulation.

Earlier, Onanuga also reposted that “A technology expert has just traced the origin of a fake AI voice note attributed to President Tinubu and revealed the true identity of the alleged mastermind of the fake voice note: IFECHUKWU DENNIS”.
