Police find 6 grenades left by terrorists in Borno

Police officers in Borno State have recovered six projectile grenades suspected to have been left behind by Boko Haram terrorists at the Ajilari Cross area of ​​Maiduguri, the state capital.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Yusuf Lawal, who disclosed this on Saturday while briefing journalists in Maiduguri, said the projectiles were recovered on Friday.

He said, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel, Base 13, were deployed to the scene to assess the grenade and found that the grenade was made with incendiary chemicals.

He said the affected area had been thoroughly inspected and the projectile was found intact.

CP said: “In a separate incident, 20 suspects were arrested for burning tyres and inciting riots in Maiduguri.

“They are currently being interrogated and investigated for transparent prosecution.”

Lawal disclosed that another violent incident occurred on the same day in Bassam Galomari Village, Gubio II District, Gubio local government area of ​​the state.
