A House of Representatives aspirant for Yola North/Yola South and Gerei Federa constituency of Adamawa State on the platform of the APC, Alh. Ahmadu Hamman, has warned the Governing All Progressives Congress (APC) against imposing candidates in Saturday’s primary elections in the state.
Speaking at a press conference in Yola on Friday, he noted that they have credible information on the efforts of some stakeholders in the party to impose their preferred candidates.
He noted that they are prepared and ready to fight in the primaries, stressing that any attempt to cheat them in the primaries through imposition will not only be thwarted but will also cost the party and President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Danmaje further noted that they are loyal members of the party, whose commitment to the success of the party is well known to all, hence the need for the party to be fair and just to all by conducting free and fair primaries as per the party constitution and electoral law.
He urged the committee sent to conduct the exercise in the State to hold a press conference where they will present the register and result sheets to all aspirants in the spirit of transparency, fairness and justice.
He said it is not even known who and how the elections will be held in the various constituencies of the state, stressing that everything is kept secret leaving all aspirants in the dark.
The aspirant also advises party leaders in the state and critical stakeholders to put aside their selfish interest in the overall interest of the party by conducting free and fair primaries so as to protect the party and its candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from losing Adamawa in 2027.
