The lawyer Sergius Ogun was officially declared candidate for the African democratic congress (ADC) in the next Senatorial district of Edo Central District.

The announcement followed the successful primary elections held under the supervision of the party’s state leadership.

The President of the State of the ADC, which was also an official return for the year, said the victory of Ogun and signed the sheet of primary electoral results, confirming his emergency as a standard bearer of the party.

The event was testified by party officials, delegates and supporters who expressed trust in Ogun’s ability to represent the district effectively.

In his acceptance speech, the lawyer Ogun thanked the leadership, the delegates and the party supporters for their trust in him.

He has committed himself to managing a campaign based on issues focused on the development, good governance and well -being of the people of Edo Central.

“This is a victory for the people and I am honored to bring the ADC banner to these crucial elections,” said Ogun.

He said: “Together, we will work to bring a progressive representation to the senatorial district and face the urgent needs of our communities”.

The central senatorial election of Edo has attracted significant attention, with political analysts who acutely observed the prospects of the ADC in the race.

Ogun, a legal practitioner and former member of the Chamber of Federal Representatives, should bring his experience in defense and governance at the forefront of his campaign.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (Iner) announced on August 16, 2025, for supplementary elections, but political activities should intensify in the coming weeks.
