Super Eagles are a very good team: Poland coach defends 2-2 draw

Polish coach Jan Urban defended his team’s 2-2 draw against Nigeria in yesterday’s friendly match in Lisbon, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Poland twice came from behind to draw against Nigeria, scoring at the end of both halves, a result that at least saves the coach his job after a streak of defeats, including in the World Cup playoff.

Despite stopping a losing streak, the media remained highly critical of the team under his direction, raising questions about his continuity as the team’s coach.

He was asked if a defeat yesterday would have cost him his job and he said: “I wasn’t worried about us conceding first again, because we were playing well and we continued to play well even after the goal,” he said in the post-match press conference.

“It was a very good game on our side against a good team, because you could see how they handle the ball, how they play…”
