Suspended former PDP Lagos chairman, Aeroland, joins APC

Former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Segun Adewale alias Aeroland, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

He stated this at a press conference on Saturday in Lagos.

PDP executives in Alimosho local government area of the state suspended Adewale indefinitely for allegedly causing disaffection in the party last week.

The former PDP chief before his suspension attributed the party’s failure to win elections in the state since 1999 to corruption and disunity among its members.

In his remarks at a media briefing, Adewale said he did not move to APC to contest the 2027 elections but to contribute to President Bola Tinubu’s New Hope Agenda.

He said: “I am not running in the 2027 elections, but I will go to the ruling party to support the president. My next step is to go to Abuja and bow down to Tinubu.”

The former PDP chairman emphasized that the suspension was orchestrated by parties opposing him because he exposed mismanagement of campaign funds in the 2023 election.

He added: “Instead of my party’s LGA arresting Bode George and his gang, they accused me of stealing money meant for the elections. Money they didn’t give me in the first place.

“They said because of that, I should be suspended and I asked them to come to my neighborhood to suspend me so that I can join the APC.

“What did I do at the party? I spent millions during the election, but in the end, the money wasn’t worth it.

“I am not even in PDP anymore because I have seen it all and I will not stay in PDP until now, unless Atiku Abubakar asks me to fight in 2023.”
