Team Nigeria secures women’s 4x400m relay gold in Accra

Team Nigeria secured gold in the women’s 4x400m relay at the African Athletics Championships held in Accra, Ghana, on Sunday.

The Nigerian quartet consisting of Esther Okon, Toheebat Jimoh, Jecinter Lawrence and Patience Okon-George put in an impressive performance, finishing in 3:29.25 to claim first place.

Nigeria crossed the finish line comfortably ahead of Ethiopia, who took silver, while Kenya took bronze.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe emerged victorious in the men’s 4x400m final, with Kenya taking silver and Morocco taking bronze.

Earlier in the day, Nigeria reached the podium again with Rosemary Chukwuma winning the silver medal in the women’s 200m final.
