Sports247 reports that the hitman on loan from France’s OGC Nice is still beaming with joy from the goal he scored against Poland in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw during a similar friendly in Warsaw, which he described as a good result and was excited that the team can replicate it.

He also expressed personal satisfaction at his ability to appear on the scorer’s chart during the midweek match, which came just four days after he did the same while captaining a second-string Eagles side to a victory over Jamaica during the Unity Cup final in London.

Having also scored in the Eagles’ 3-0 win on Saturday at Charlton Athletic FC’s home ground, The Valley, Moffi admitted he feels on top of the world, but admitted the Nigerian side must not get carried away by Wednesday’s draw in Warsaw.

Instead of celebrating too much the result of their match against Robert Lewandowski’s team, Moffi acknowledged that the Eagles need to reevaluate their performance in the match and identify where they went wrong, especially since they lost the lead on two occasions.

The 27-year-old striker, whose full name is Teremas Igobor Moffi, admitted that the Eagles must learn from their draw with Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium to be able to do better against Portugal on Wednesday next week in Lisbon.

“I’m proud and happy for myself and the team too. We played very well but unfortunately we couldn’t secure the win; however, there were a lot of positives to take home. I think it was a great performance from the boys.

“There are a lot of positives to take home and we are proud of ourselves. It was a difficult game because they are a superior team. We had to stay low, absorb the pressure and try a lot of counterattacks or possessions.

“I try to score as many goals as possible. Against Portugal it will be difficult, but I will try to do my job too,” said Moffi, who made his debut against Cameroon in 2021 and now has six goals in 22 games for Nigeria.
