The equity market starts on Sunday in a bright tone because investors get the N263BN

The Nigerian equity market returned from the Eid al-Maulud celebration on Monday, September 8, 2025, with a bright record when investors received N263 billion after five hours of trading on the Nigerian Xchange Group (NGX) floor.

This follows the surge in stock prices such as PZ Nigeria, University PLC University and Ellah Lakes PLC, among others, on the trading floor.

The Benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 139,394.75 points from 138,980.01 points recorded on the previous trading day.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, equity capitalization increased to N88,199 trillion from N87,936 trillion, recorded by the Exchange on Thursday, September 4, 2025, before the holidays.

The extent of the positive market with 41 advanced shares, 18 shares declined, and 78 remaining shares did not change in 36,036 agreements.

PZ Nigeria, University Press PLC and Ellah Lakes PLC led other growths with 10%, 10% and 9.94% growth in stock prices to be closed at N35.20, N5.50, and N14.27 from N32.00, N5.00 and N12.98 per previous share.

Nigeria enamelware PLC, Industrial & Medical Gas, and Union Dicon Salt PLC leads other prices with a decrease in 10% in stock prices, closed at N35.10, N33.30, and N10.80 per share, down from N39.00 before, N37.00, and N12.00 per share.

In the volume index, the First City Monument Bank led trade with 460 million shares in 679 agreements, followed by Universal Insurance PLC which was traded 42 million shares in 318 agreements.

Royal Exchange Assurance PLC trading 35 million shares in 108 agreements.

In the value index, the First City Monument Bank emerged as the top stock traded, collecting N4.7 billion in 679 agreements, followed by Zenith Bank PLC, who traded equity worth N1.7 billion in 1,959 agreements.

Guarantee of confidence holding a stocking PLC traded worth N1.6 billion in 1, 819 agreement.
