Former Director of the National Sports Commission, Dr. Patrick Ekeji, has applauded Rangers International Football Club for establishing the Rangers International Football Club Foundation, describing it as a bold step towards greater community impact and sustainable development.

Dr. Ekeji delivered the eulogy in his hometown during a courtesy visit by Amb. Kennedy Onwunali, Rangers International FC Foundation Community Ambassador, Imo State.

The visit briefed him on Onwunali’s new dual role: Local Government Football Administrator for the Imo State Football Federation and Community Impact Ambassador for the Foundation.

Noting that Rangers International FC Foundation is Nigeria’s first football club foundation offering life-changing programs to children and youth, Dr. Ekeji expressed satisfaction with the initiative.

A former Vasco Da Gama and Rangers International FC player, he said the Foundation aligns with international best practices and is a positive development for Nigerian football.

He commended the management of Rangers International FC for the initiative and pledged his support through the Community Impact Ambassador to expand the reach of children and young people in all communities.

Dr. Ekeji also commended Amb. Onwunali for his ongoing commitment to sport development and youth empowerment, using sport to disrupt the factors that drive offending behavior – a hallmark of the work of the Rangers International FC Foundation.
