Abuja, Nigeria – The National Association of Nigeria Professional Footders (Nanpf) applauded the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for its decision to raise the provisional suspension of the Plateau United goalkeeper, ADEYINKA ADEWALE, following a fair and transparent audience process.
In a statement issued to the press, the president of the Nanpf, on Sunday Abe, expressed appreciation for the NPFL for allowing the right trial in the management of the suspension of July by Adeyinka for alleged involvement in betting activities.
“We are pleased that the NPFL has granted our member, Adeyinka adiwale, the opportunity of an equitable audition and did not allow the unproven charges to end his professional career,” said Abe. “This is a progressive step and demonstrates the will of the League to engage in a constructive way with the players’ union”.
The NPFL, in an official communication signed by its operational director, Davidson Owumi, confirmed that Adeyinka had fully collaborated with the investigations of the League. While the player was eliminated to register with any club of his choice in view of the 2025/2026 season, the NPFL stressed that the investigations on related issues are still in progress.
Abe praised the professional conduct of the League during the investigation and reiterated the union’s commitment to defend the rights and well -being of the Nigerian players.
“As a union, we will continue to ensure that no player suffers unjustly and that all disciplinary measures are managed with equity,” he said. “We appreciate the NPFL for listening to our position and to support the principles of justice and transparency.”
He also invited all professional players to remain disciplined and cooperate with the regulatory bodies when requested. Abe has ensured members of the continuous legal and moral support of Nanpf in any situation that required union intervention.
The NPFL concluded its declaration by affirming its commitment to preserve the integrity of Nigerian football, while guaranteeing that all the procedures are conducted in a fair, transparent way and in accordance with the stated guidelines.
