‘They Don’t Even Have a Manifesto’, Tinubu’s Aide, Onanuga, Mocks Obi’s New Party, NDC

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has mocked the Democratic Party of Nigeria (NDC) because the party does not have a document on its website containing its manifesto.

Onanuga who said he visited the party website to see what plans they had for Nigeria concluded that “like the ADC, the NDC has no plans for Nigeria”.

He posted on his X account that he was disappointed with the party Peter Obi recently attended.

He wrote, “Just out of curiosity, I have twice in the last few days Googled the website of the Nigerian Democratic Party (NDC), the party where political vagabond Peter Obi and his ally, Rabiu Kwankwaso, sought refuge after abandoning the ADC in the middle.

“I am interested in the party’s manifesto and whether it has expressed a radically different vision for Nigerian governance, one that is better than President Tinubu and the APC’s Renewable Hope Agenda.

“I’m disappointed. Although the site invites visitors to click on the manifesto to read it, the results are negative. “No documents found” is the response I get every time I try to download the manifesto. The party whose national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, has said it will wage an ideological battle in the 2027 election, has not uploaded any manifesto since it was filed with the courts in February. On display are six policy nuggets it considers pillars.

“However, these nuggets don’t look like pillars. They sound more like platitudes bombarded by Peter Obi, who has only attacked this country in the last six years.

“Senator Dickson, I look forward to your vision and mission for Nigeria, as your party seems to be a camp for political refugees and the hopeless”
