Unity Cup: Super Eagles training gives clues about starting eleven against Zimbabwe

The Nigerian senior team had their second training session yesterday with coach Eric Chelle and his technical team training the players ahead of tomorrow’s match against Zimbabwe, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle had the players under her supervision for about an hour starting in the warm-up session, before they played a mini-game that gave them an idea of how they might line up tomorrow.

Francis Uzoho arrived at the team camp yesterday afternoon and barring a last minute change, should start as captain in the absence of the duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Moses Simon who are yet to arrive at camp.

Tomorrow’s match will see Chelle go with a lot of new guys, although that could change after today’s session, which is expected to be more intense than previous sessions.

Chibuike Nwaiwu will likely start at center back. The back four from yesterday’s session were largely made up of NPFL players. It could change later today with Bruno Onyemaechi and Igho Ogbu expected later today.

Emmanuel Fernández is expected to also participate in today’s session. In midfield Tochukwu Nnadi will partner the duo of Raphael Onyedika and Ebenezer Akinsamiro. Although Alhassan Yusuf hoped it would arrive later today could change all that.

In attack, Philip Otele has been playing on the left with Millwall’s Femi Azeez on the right. Terem Moffi for now will surely start as the main striker with Rafiu Durosinmi as a substitute.
