Victor Osimhen leads Nigeria against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal

Nigeria have officially announced their squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal.

Both friendlies are expected to provide a tough test for the Super Eagles while also giving coach Eric Chelle the opportunity to experiment ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualification campaign.

The team remains familiar with several experienced internationals retaining their places in the team.

However, two inclusions have generated a lot of attention among fans.

Plymouth Argyle’s Oseni Owen has been called up to the senior team.

Meanwhile, Wrexham AFC goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo is also included in the squad for the upcoming matches.

Another notable inclusion is Alhassan Yusuf, whose last invitation to the Super Eagles came in March 2025, during Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
