My parents 'homeschooled' us for three years. My mom put in genuine effort for the first handful of weeks and then stopped, but also didn't bother to send us back to school.
It took a lot of begging on my part for them to finally agree.

That whole experience affected me very negatively because I was behind and my social skills were screwed up (I forgot to mention that we lived in the bush).

So, if you decide to homeschool your children, please make sure to actually teach them, and figure out other ways for them to socialize.
