Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed allegations of an alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Wike, former governor of Rivers State, told journalists after inspecting the ongoing 13-kilometre Gomani to Yangoje road project in Kwali Area Council, Abuja, on Thursday, that the narrative of an alliance between the PDP and APM was just political imagination.
He said neither the PDP nor the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was aware of the existence of such an alliance.
APM and PDP strengthened their alliance at a unity rally held on Thursday in Ibadan.
“There is no alliance between PDP and APM or any other political party, INEC also knows that there is no such thing as a PDP-APM alliance.
“Ongoing political activities within the PDP, including the screening of candidates, clearly show that the party remains independent and is not entering into any coalition.

“The PDP has submitted a presidential candidate. Wait to see who will be submitted to INEC and see if there is such a thing as PDP-APM,” he added.
The minister also alleged that the meeting in Ibadan was facilitated by Oyo Stare Governor, Seyi Makinde, to pursue his presidential ambitions under the APM platform.
“What exists is that Makinde joined APM to be able to realize his presidential ambition, which was already dead on his arrival,” the Minister added.
