No less than 16 West African Provincial Commanders (ISWAP), and a number of unspecified fighters have been eliminated by the Hadin Kai Operations forces from the Nigerian army and the air components as well as the Civil Task Force (CJTF), following their hiding place in the forest in Damboa in cities in Borno.
The Nigerian army in a statement about its official X grip, said the bombing of the terrorist location that occurred in early Friday, was a
The coordinated attack that expelled the rebels who planned to carry out attacks on the city and other locations.
The statement entitled ‘Troops Neutralize Terrorists, Restoring Weapons and Ammunitions’, stated that apart from the omitted terror commander, sophisticated weapons including AK 47S were found from their hiding place.
“In a decisive blow to terrorism, the Hadin Kai Operations forces, together with the Civil Joint Task Force (CJTF), have succeeded in involving and neutralizing several terrorists Boko Haram/Iswap in separate operations,” the statement said.
“The troops met with terrorists who tried to loot food from damaged civilians in Rann. The quick response of the troops resulted in the elimination of six terrorists and the recovery of several AK 47 rifles with ammunition.
“In related development, troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Molai, together with CJTF, carried out a successful ambush at the terrorist crossing point near Komala, along the Maiduguri-Damboa road.
“Ambush resulted in neutralization of several terrorists and recovery of several motorcycles and IED materials intended to be buried by terrorists.
The main encouragement of terrorists is the location of the brigade in Damboa, where they attack en masse. However, the troops responded firmly with a heavy firing power, which led to a large number of enemy victims, “said one source.
“At least 16 terrorist bodies were found after the exchange, with several others it was believed to have fled with a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, two soldiers paid the highest price during the battle of weapons with terrorists.
“While the troops can control the situation, the explosion from one of the terrorist projectiles caused a fire at the ammunition storage facility, which caused an impact on two structures. The fire was immediately contained.
“The pursuit operation is currently underway to track the escape terrorists, while the permit operation continues around the public area.”
