Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who is seeking to vie for a Senate seat after completing his term as governor has received an expression of interest and nomination form from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
This happened when the state branch of APM provided expression of interest and nomination forms to its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While handing over the forms, the Chairman of the Party in Bauchi State, Auwal Isa, said that the exercise marked the beginning of the process leading to the screening, approval and eventual submission of candidate names to the Independent National Electoral Commission in accordance with election guidelines.
Other beneficiaries of this nomination form are candidates for senators, the House of Representatives, and the State Council.
This development follows an earlier meeting of APM stakeholders, where party leaders reportedly adopted a consensus arrangement to select candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

Under the arrangement, governorship candidates were zoned to Bauchi North Senatorial District, with former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Yakubu Adamu, emerging as governorship candidate based on party consensus.
Likewise, the Executive Chairman of Bauchi Local Government Council and Chairman of the Local Government Association of Nigeria in the state, Mahmud Babamaji, emerged as the vice presidential candidate.
One of the gubernatorial candidates, Farouk Mustapha, had previously expressed his support for the consensus arrangement in a viral video on Facebook, and pledged allegiance to the governor’s decision.
Speaking on the development, Auwal Isa praised the party stakeholders for resolving the issue amicably and amicably, and described the process as proof of political maturity.
He also expressed confidence that the growing acceptance and popularity of APM across Bauchi State and other parts of the country would position the party strongly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
