At least four people died in a boat accident in Dundaye community in Wamakko local government area of Sokoto State on Sunday.
Head of Sokoto Field Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Aliyu Kafindangi, confirmed the incident to journalists on Tuesday in Sokoto.
He said a joint team from NEMA, Nigerian Red Cross, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Fire and Rescue Service and local divers recovered the bodies on Monday.

Kafindangi said: “Based on investigations, 24 people were involved in the incident but 19 of them have been rescued.
“One body was found on Sunday and yesterday we found three more bodies, bringing the death toll to four.
“One person is still missing but search and rescue is ongoing.”
NEMA officials thanked state and local governments as well as members of the public for their contributions to the success of the rescue operation.
