The former Falcons coach of Super supports NFF amid inactivity before WAFCON 2025

With the concerns that grow about the lack of activity of the Super Falcons in the accumulation of the Wafcon 2025, the former assistant coach Mansur Abdullahi insists that “there is no need to panic.”

Speaking in a recent interview, Abdullahi supported the leadership of the NFF to take the right steps ahead of the continental tournament, which begins in three months.

“I think everyone has their personal opinion,” he said. “And I think that the leadership of the Nigerian Football Federation not only has its hands.”

Further praised the administrative capacity of the NFF:

“We have a powerful general secretary, who is also a Senior CAF instructor when it comes to coaching and education.”

The NFF will perform in the next window

Abdullahi believes that the next International FIFA window will be used to organize friendlies for the Super Falcons, especially because most players are currently active with their clubs in Europe and Africa.

“I think that at any time from now on, the Nigerian Football Federation should be able to appear in the next window for the Super Falcons to have friendly matches.”

“It’s not as if it were a month for the Cup of Nations. It’s still three months away.”

“Most of these girls are playing, none of the leagues are on vacation.”

“All leagues are in those in Africa and Europe.”

A timely reminder, not a crisis

Although the Super Falcons have not played since the qualification for Wafcon in December 2024, Abdullahi is still optimistic that the NFF will not waste the time left.

“Then I think I have the confidence, that in the next window, by the special grace of God, the Nigeria Football Federation will not allow it to happen like this.”

Looking towards Morocco

Nigeria, drawn in group C along with Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania, are looking at their 12th Wafcon title, extended by records.

The preparations are crucial, and Mansur Abdullahi trusts that the friendlies will come in the next international window and that the planning of the Federation will soon correspond to the action in the field.
