Ntytp warns against the premature approval of the governor Ododo for the second term – Thage

… .S defense of young people urges concentration on governance on politics

The chapter of the state of Kogi not too young to perform (Ntytp), an organization of leadership and governance led by young people, expressed strong reservations about the recent public approval of the governor Ododo Ahmed Usman for a second term in office by his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Comrade Tenimu Alhassan, secretary of state advertising, Ntytp described approval as “politically premature and economically unattractive”, claiming that these statements, barely 15 months in the first mandate of the governor Ododo, are not only bad but potentially harmful to the results of governance.

“We make in bold by saying that, after an in -depth and dispassionate observation, this approval appears politically premature and economically not very attractive for a vast majority of analysts and public observers,” said the group.

While recognizing the initial results of the current administration, including the steps of infrastructure and governance continuity, Ntytp warned that these first political sponsorships could introduce complacency and distract from the fundamental responsibilities of the leadership.

“The real concern of many interested parties and observers is the risk that this premature suspends: it can dampen the governor’s energy, to introduce political laxity and potentially undermining public trust if the performance is obscured by political calculations”, observed the press release.

Ntytp also stressed that the Governor Ododo should be given time and space to test himself through a supported performance, rather than being prematurely pushed into a narrative of the re -election campaign. “The results and the scorecard should speak stronger than political sponsorships”, the group claimed, warning that the driving force behind approval seems to be “premature enthusiasm, rather than long -term tangible results”.

The organization has indicated several critical sectors that still require an urgent government intervention. He highlighted the inefficiency in many ministries, departments and agencies (MDA), citing “a current workforce deficit” that has left “different offices and inactive departments, in particular at the Kogi State Secretariat”. He stressed that, unless the institutional capacity has improved, the provision of the service will remain poor.

In facing the development of young people, Ntytp asked for a transition from politically motivated appointments and towards significant Empowerment strategies. “The administration should accelerate policies and programs that make the young people of Kogi productive, innovative and occupable in all sectors,” he urged the declaration.

The group also attracted attention to the pressing transport challenges faced by the residents and recommended the introduction of subway buses to operate during the mornings on weekdays as a way to relieve mobility charges. On water infrastructures, he complained of the persistent scarcity in Lokoja and other parts of the state, asking for bold and sustainable reforms. “For over a decade, the residents of the State of Kogi, in particular in Lokoja, have endured an acute lack of stable water supply,” said the group, supporting the potential privatization and measurement of water services to improve delivery and maintenance.

Ntytp did not spare the former Governor Yahaya Bello in his criticism, pushing him to maintain a role that is “supporting and not distracted” to the administration still developed by his successor. “Strategic coordination and disciplined communication are essential to safeguard the attention of the governor Ododo and allow him to be based on his promising beginning without unnecessary political pressure”, the group recommended.

Ntytp reiterated its belief that the political validation should be guided by performance. “An impressive beginning is not a long -term succession guarantee,” concluded the declaration. “In governance, just like in a marathon, prolonged focus, determination and ability to provide consistent results are what in the end defines success”.

With its structures in all 36 states and in the territory of the federal capital, Ntytp has reiterated its commitment to promote responsible leadership, enhance young people and support sustainable development throughout Nigeria.
