NSF: Shettimo, Obasanjo, Soyinka, Daniel, others attend the colorful opening ceremony

The vice -president Kashim Shettimo, the former president Olusgun Obasanjo and Prof. Wole Soyinka were among the dignitaries who participated in the opening ceremony of the 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged Gateway Games in Abokuta, Ogun State.

The colorful opening ceremony took place at the Mko Abiola Stadium, Abokuta on Sunday.

The governor of the State of Anambra, the counterparties of Prof. Charles Soludo, Imo, Osun and Kogi, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, Ademola Adeleke and Usman Ododo were also present.

The deputy governor of the State of Ekiti, Monisade Afuye, former president of the Chamber of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, former Governors of the State of Ogun, OlusGun Oosoba and Senator Gbenga Daniel, representing the District of Ogun East Senatorial, Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun were also present.

The reduced opening ceremony were also several members of the National Assembly, both at the state and national level.

The 22nd NSF is taking place in Abeokuta, between 16 and 30 May with athletes to compete in 23 sporting events.

The Delta team won the 21st edition of the NSF in Asaba with 320 gold medals, 200 silver medals and 128 bronze medals.

The Bayelsa team came second followed by the Edo team in third place.
