Gunmen Attack Edo Catholic Seminary, Raffucet three seminarians – Thage

At least three seminarians were kidnapped and an officer of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) killed by armed men who attacked the minor seminar of the Catholic conception in Ivianokpodi, Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government area of ​​the Edo State.

The director of social communications, Catholic Diocese of Auchi, Rev. P. Peter Egielewa, who confirmed the accident, said that armed men attacked the seminary around 9:00 pm on Wednesday.

The accident occurred only ten months after the seminar was attacked in October last year.

By expressing a deep concern for the accident, Egielewa described persistent attacks as worrying and unacceptable.

“We are deeply saddened and condemn this act of violence in the strongest. This is the second time in 10 months in which the school was attacked. Ten months ago, a priest has been kidnapped. And now three seminarians have been kidnapped and a member of the civil defense body was killed, while a local policeman has undergone arms injuries.

“We ask the government to protect the life of all those who work in Catholic institutions and in our diocese.

“We hope that local, state and federal security agencies take responsibility for this, so our people can be in peace and safety,” he said.
