Still! The Ministry of Foreign Affairs generates alarm on false social media accounts, impersonating the Amb. Ahmed

Abuja (Reporter Core) Ministry of Nigerian Foreign Affairs has again launched the alarm of False Social Media Account, in particular on platforms such as Facebook, X (previously Twitter) and Instagram, who fraudulently impersonate his excellence, the ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, the permanent secretary of the ministry.

This was contained in a press declaration of the ministry spokesman, Kimiebi IMOMOTIMI Ebienfa, and made available to basic journalists on Friday 22 August 2025 in Abuja.

The Statement Reads in Parts, “The Attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Has Been Drawn to the Malicious Creation and Operation of Fake Social Media Accounts, Particle -Platforms Such As Facebook, X (Formerly Twitter), and Instagram, Which Fraudulently committed to His Excellency, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, PhD, The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.

“The Ministry Wishes to State that the permanent Secretary, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, Does Not Own or Operate Any Personal Social Media Accounts for Official Or Professional Purposes. All Official Communications from the Office of the permanent Secretary Are Disseminate Through The Ministry’s Verified Channels, Including Its Official Website (www.foreignaCairs.gov.ng) and official social media handles.

“Therefore, the diplomatic community and the public general are recommended to provide maximum caution and ignore any communication or requested by these fake accounts and report these fake accounts or attempts to imitation to the social media platforms relevant to immediate Takedown and the Nigerian police through the cybernetic crime unit.

“The Ministry is working with the relevant security and regulatory agencies for an in -depth investigation and to make the authors justice. The federal government of Nigeria is committed to supporting the highest standards of integrity and transparency in its operations and will not tolerate actions aimed at fraying citizens and minimizing public trust.” The declaration concluded.
