Abuja (Reporter Core), the National Orientation Agency (Noa) is currently carrying out a national awareness campaign focused on five critical themal areas aimed at promoting national unity, awareness and development. These areas include:

Reorientation of national values: aimed at students in secondary and tertiary institutions to curb extreme practices and promote moral values ​​and character reorientation.

Mitigation of floods and preparation for catastrophes: educating citizens on security measures and government initiatives to mitigate flood risks and improve catastrophes’ management.

National security awareness: strengthening security architecture through better equipment, training and greater funding for safety agencies, as well as encouraging citizens to report suspicious activities.

Policies, programs and activities of the Government: to inform citizens about government initiatives, such as the Fund for Loans for Nigerian education (in theFund), the conditional cash transfer regime, traders and loans without Farmermoni interest.

Nigerian identity project and national symbols: to promote patriotism, respect for national symbols and awareness of government programs and policies.

The campaign, led by the general manager of the Noa Mallam Lanre Issa-Sylilu, aims to reach over 3 million Nigerians by state through various raising methods, including meetings of the Town Hall, defense visits, school visits and media interactions. The agency is collaborating with traditional leaders, security agencies and civil society organizations to guide the campaign message across the country.

The agency has carried out some remarkable events and activities in the context of this campaign and include:

Defense visits to traditional sovereigns in the state of Bauchi to promote national unity and awareness. In the continuous effort to promote national unity and awareness, the direction of the state of Bauchi, Wednesday 3 September 2025, led defense visits to the Emir of Dass, Hrh. Alhaji Othman Biliyaminu Othman II and Miri’s District Head, Alhaji. Hussain Abubakar Othman, in their respective buildings. During the visits, Alhaji Nasiru Mahe, director of State of Noa Bauchi, highlighted the crucial roles that traditional sovereigns and religious leaders carry out in promoting national unity.

He urged them to amplify the message of the general manager of Noa, Mallam Lanre Issa-Honilu, to their followers, thus contributing to the creation of a Nigeria characterized by strong values, safety and units.

The campaign uses various raising methods such as press conferences, municipal meetings, defense visits to traditional and religious leaders, school visits, commitments of parks motors, roadshow gatherings and media interactions.

The direction of the state of Noa Zamfara organized a meeting of the Town Hall on the lighting campaign at national level on the 5 thematic issues of Thursday 4 September 2025, at the Maryam Hayin Gusau multiple hall.

Also in the state of Kebbi, the Emir of Argentu praised Noa for his timely and supported public commitment, observing that the efforts of the Agency would contribute significantly to the reorientation of the values ​​necessary to make Nigeria a great nation.

However, Emir has not chopped words on the underlying issues that afflict the country. He expressed profound concern that without a strengthened judicial system, the challenges of Nigeria would persist. Emir has complained to the way people ignore the laws and regulations unknown without dealing with the consequences.

He highlighted a disturbing social tendency in which individuals who should be condemned for their misdeeds are celebrated, a practice that said the tissue of society is undermined.

“As a traditional leaders, we will continue to do our best,” said Emir, “but a deliberate action is needed to make citizens responsible for their bad actions for our country to make progress”.

Emir’s powerful declaration serves as a powerful reminder which, although public lighting is essential, must be coupled to the responsibility and constant application of the rule of law. The collaboration between Noa and Emir of Argentu indicates a united front in the struggle for a more just and straight Nigeria.

In the meantime, the Delegation of Noa, which included the director of the State of Kebbi, Mallam Mohammed Nasir Karofi and other members of the management staff, had expressed strong confidence in the ability of traditional sovereigns to guide their communities towards a positive value reorientation.
