The Warriors of Abia were forced to a draw alone by continental perennial activists, Djoliba AC of Mali in their debut CAF Confederation Cup Match, played at the iconic Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Emeka Obioma made history as a player to score a first continental goal for Abia Warriors, when Jubrin Faiz’s delivery to the 20th minute of the game went home.

Umu Chineke was clearly the best side in the first half while dominating the game and sculpted the best possibilities.

They would have doubled their advantage in the 39th minute of the game, but the chip on Sunday Megwo on the custodian was unable to hit the target.

Visitors came out fighting in the second half and were rewarded with a goal from the Kardel Kenan Armel strike in the 87th minute.

Dumping from that equatorist, the Warriors went in search of another goal, but visitors resisted for a fought draw.

Abia Warriors will now prepare for the return leg scheduled for September 28, 2025, at the Mamadou Konate stadium in Bamako, while they aim to improve their home performance and ensure a vital victory to progress to the next round.
