65th birthday Fundraiser: Dangote, Rabiu, Arthur Eze, Elumelu, Jim Ovia, others give Remi Tinubu n20.7 billion to complete the National Library

First Lady, Senator Oltemi Tinubu, has announced that his fundraising for the 65th birthday towards the completion of the National Library has created n20.7 billion.

He declared him as he had lunch with the media in the presidential villa, Abuja.
Senator Oltemi Tinubu explained that the birthday account, Oloremi@65 Education Fund will remain open until December 2025 to receive more donations from the Nigerians willing to complete the project.

Senator First Lady Oloremi Tinubu also denied the statements that his fundraising for the 65th birthday is politically motivated.
He stressed that as a teacher, as well as the Impact library on his life as he grew up, he was motivated to ask for donations towards the construction of the national library.
“What’s wrong with doing well or trying to build our country – if I could help the post -war construction process in Liberia giving the elementary and secondary school of Oloremi Tinubu in the county of Monte Serrado in Liberia, what is wrong with attracting attention to some of the areas of necessity in our beloved nation?”
“This is not the first time that I raised funds for causes close to my heart. For my 45th birthday, I raised N50 million to complete the National Sickle Cell Foundation Center, which since then has become fully operational. For my 50th birthday, I collected N200 million for the New Foundation and other charity bodies”.
“I had my part in this project and I believe that the Nigerians can raise the funds necessary to complete the library. This is not only a project but a national treasure that will serve the generations to come”
The First Lady revealed that at 14:00 on Tuesday 23 September 2025, the fund had created n20.4 billion and still counted, observing that the account will remain open until December 2025 before it is closed.
Senator Oltemi Tinubu said that the signatories of the account are the Minister of Education and the Librarian Head of the Federation, insisting on the fact that his was to help guide the funds.
The National Assembly Library project, started in 1981 and approved with funding in the following years, had had to face decades of delays of financing, with the budget that intensified from N8.2 billion in 1981 to N23 billion starting from 2023 In two years.
