Kogi to enforce the trailer parks from 29 October – Thage

By Joseph Amedu, Lokoja

The state government of Kogi has announced that the rigorous application of the ban on trailers will begin throughout the state with effect from 29 October 2025, in line with the directive of the governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The commissioner for information and communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, who revealed it to Lokoja, said that the decision followed the credible intelligence reports that some trailer parks in the state, in particular those located in Zariata and Osara, have become hiding places for criminal elements.

According to him, the government cannot bend its arms while these structures are used to compromise the safety of lives and properties in the state.

“The directive of his excellence, the governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, is clear. From 29 October 2025, the state will begin the full application of the ban on trailers

He revealed that security agencies throughout the state have been strictly informed to enforce the order without compromise, underlining that the transgressors will have to face the entire weight of the law.

The commissioner also observed that the application is supported by the law, since the governor Ododo has already signed a bill in law that prohibits the movement of trucks articulated during the day.

Fanwo urged operators to conform before the date of application and invited residents to support the government’s action, underlining that protecting life and guaranteeing communities remain the maximum priority of the current administration.
