The police arrested the kidnapper behind the murder of a young woman in the nasarawa

The Nasarawa State National Police Command has captured the alleged kidnapper responsible for the kidnapping and killing of Miss Favor Francis from the Ombi Anzaku community in the regional government of the Lafia.

Police public relations officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to journalists on Monday at the Lafia, noting that the operation was part of the command of the command to eradicate criminal activities throughout the state.

According to Nankel, a member of the vigilante group in Nigeria (VGN) in Ambana Village, Lafia, arrested two suspects – the names detained – on Sunday, October 5, around 8:30 pm, and handed them to the police.

He explained that the incident that led to the arrest occurred on Friday, October 3, around 10:00 in the afternoon, but was not reported to the security authority immediately.

“After receiving the suspect, Shettima Jauro-Mohammed, a police commissioner in the state, ordered the operators of the tactical command unit to quickly launch an investigation,” Nankel said.

He added that further investigation by the tactical team caused the arrest of other suspects in Angwan Nunku, Lafia, who then took the police operator to the site where the gang hid their weapons.

The police spokesman revealed that two suspects claimed to have committed a crime during the interrogation, while efforts were ongoing to track other gang members who escaped.

He also confirmed that the victim was rescued to live and was taken to the Federal University of Federal Hospital, Lafia, but unfortunately he died while receiving treatment.

SP Nankel, speaking in the name of the Police Commissioner, praised VGN and police operator for the rapid response and effective collaboration that caused arrests.

He urged community members to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely and credible information to assist security institutions in combating crime.

“The order will not succumb in his efforts to ensure that all criminal elements were arrested and taken to court. We also encourage residents to continue to support the police with information that can help the investigation,” he added.
