The Nigerian team dominated the standings at the 2025 African Para Badminton Championships, with 36 medals, including 10 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze as the competition ended on Sunday.
The Kenya National Olympic Committee is in second place with 11 medals, consisting of four gold, two silver and five bronze medals at the tournament held at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, Abia.
Egypt rounded out the top three with eight medals, including three gold, one silver and four bronze.
Benin Republic is in fourth place with one gold, two silver and two bronze, while Democratic Congo is in fifth with one gold and two bronze.
Tunisia finished sixth with one silver and one bronze, while Cameroon got six bronze for seventh place.
Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso and Rwanda complete the top 10 with two bronzes each while Mauritius completes the medal table with one bronze.

Only Mozambique failed to win any medals among the 12 countries participating in the 19-event tournament that started on October 7.
Meanwhile, African badminton queens Eniola Bolaji, Chigozie Nnanna, Chukwuemeka Eze, Ijeoma Chukwuemeka, Mary Nathan, Chinyere Okoro, Munkwoba Goman and Bello Tukur were among Nigeria’s gold medalists.
The trio of Bolaji, Nnanna and Nathan have won gold medals in their category at the recently concluded First Abia Para Badminton International held between September 30 and October 5, at the same venue.
Also, Odinachi Uwalaka, Obinna Nwosu, Ifeanacho Ohaeri, Ebikoboere Brown, Abel David, James Akpan and Nendimwa Monday and others won silver for Nigeria on Sunday.
In his speech at the closing ceremony, Governor Alex Otti of Abia represented by Nwaobilor Ananaba, Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, extended warm congratulations and thanks to all the athletes, officials and delegates as the event was a celebration of extraordinary resilience and unity.
Also in his goodwill message, the President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih said that the athletes have demonstrated that sport is a powerful expression of human ability, resilience and dignity.
