NBBF presidential aspirant Igoche Mark reveals first order of business

As the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) elections approaches, a presidential aspirant Igoche Mark, basketball league promoter Mark D’ Ball, has revealed that his first task as NBBF president will be to broker unity among stakeholders in the sport.

Mark, who addressed sports journalists in Abuja at the weekend, stressed the importance of peace and unity for progress, saying: “The first thing I will do when I am elected president of the NBBF is to unite the house. We must unite because a house divided against itself cannot stand.”

He added: “Every individual in this sport has something unique to offer. We are very versatile; there is no place in the world you go without seeing a Nigerian making exploits in the basketball ecosystem.”

Mark expressed his intention to channel energy towards the development of the game at home, stating: “We must be intentional in channeling all our energies to positively develop the game at home, and this responsibility falls on me when I am elected president of the NBBF.”

Regarding claims that he lacks the experience needed to run the NBBF, Mark responded: “The opportunity must be presented to an individual before gaining experience. Running a federation like the NBBF is not a one-man deal but by a board. I think this statement makes no logical sense because I don’t think any former NBBF president is in the running,” Marco said.
