Enugu Government showers praises as NYA inaugurates South East LG Coordinators

The General Manger, Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) of Enugu State, Hon Monday Diamond Ani, has described the National Youth Alliance (NYA) as a forerunner and beacon in promoting patriotism and good governance in Nigeria and Africa at large.

This is contained in a statement signed by Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the NYA President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbs, made available to journalists in Kaduna on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

According to the statement, he expressed this when he was a guest speaker at the NYA Leadership Symposium and the official inauguration of 95 Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinators in the South East on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

“There are so many youth organizations in Nigeria. There are so many youth organizations in Enugu State and across Africa, but I think the National Youth Alliance is one of them that stands out.

“I don’t say this to praise anyone. I have been active in activism, from being president of the Student Union Government to chairing the Council of Presidents in South East Nigeria, leading all contracts in Nigeria from 2019 to 2020, even calling a press conference against the actual strike in Abuja. So we have seen it all, but we do it in every sense of balance and diplomacy because you cannot abuse a leader in the spirit of activism,” he said.

Speaking on the topic “Bringing a New Nigeria: Inclusion of Youth and Women in Politics and Governance”, he said leading is not easy.

“When you occupy a leadership position, you will understand what the leaders say. The NYA president and his delegates were in my office yesterday. I received them in audience. We shared ideas. And as he spoke, he told me that when he arrived in Enugu, in the space of 10, 15, 20 minutes,
moving in the environment, places our governor as the Millennium Governor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the President of NYA, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, said Nigeria is blessed with hard-working and creative youths.

He said if the potentials of the youth were harnessed, Nigeria would be a force to be reckoned with across the world in all spheres of life.

The guest speaker, a professor of government and public administration, Jude Udenta, said Nigeria stands at a crossroads, trying to redefine its path towards sustainable development and democratic growth.

“The theme of the birth of a new Nigeria, inclusion, empowerment and governance of youth and women, highlights the imperative of integrating two crucial democracies into the nation’s decision-making habits.

“Without the youth and women in this country, Nigeria will continue to move forward like a strain that has engine problems. And when a train engine is forced, the body is useless because of the force,” he warned.

The Chairman, Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu (Ogadagidi), in his admonition, stressed the need to add value to the youths of the country, given their importance to development.

He commended NYA Youth President Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas for coordinating youth across the nation for a dignified gathering.

He further said that there is a need to invest in youth because they are the treasure of the nation.
