Injured Super Eagles duo return to training after skipping Jordan friendly

The duo of Semi Ajayi and Maduka Okoye, who were absent from the Super Eagles’ friendly match against Jordan due to physical problems, have returned to full training, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Nigeria ended their campaign in the four-nation invitational tournament by drawing 2-2 with Jordan without the aforementioned duo, who were excused from the camp after suffering knocks.

Ajayi was allowed to leave the team’s field after the 2-1 victory over Iran. He was substituted in the match after suffering a knock, but has now been cleared by Hull City’s medical staff to play in tomorrow’s match against Oxford United.

Okoye was said to have suffered a setback in training, hence the decision to grant him permission to leave before the final match. The Udinese player, who returned to the team after snubbing the AFCON, is however fit to play in Serie A against Como on Monday.

This shows that the decision of the coach of the Nigerian team, Eric Chelle, to let them go was made so as not to aggravate the blow they suffered.
