Chelle names Okonkwo and Osimhen in Super Eagles 25-man squad for Poland-Portugal friendlies

The coach of the Nigerian national team, Eric Chelle, has presented the 25-player squad for the Super Eagles Upcoming international friendly matches against Poland and Portugal in June 2026.

The Malian tactician has selected a mix of established internationals and emerging talents as Nigeria continues its preparations for future international competitions and qualification campaigns.

Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has earned an invitation to the team along with prolific striker Victor Osimhen, who spearheads the attacking options for the two high-profile fixtures.

Regular Super Eagles stars including Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Calvin Bassey were also included in the team.

The matches against Poland and Portugal are expected to provide important tests for Chelle as he continues to build his preferred team and tactical identity ahead of competitive assignments.

Nigeria will face Poland before taking on Portugal in what are expected to be two important international friendlies against strong European opposition.

The games are also expected to offer opportunities for several new and fringe players to impress and cement regular places in the Super Eagles set-up.
